Peter W. Hart
Peter W. Hart, born in 1951 in Montreal is a self-taught artist recognized for his distinctive approach to contemporary painting, best described as “Transposing Joy.” A former CEO and athlete, Hart brings an unrestrained energy into his work, creating vibrant compositions that radiate movement, and the beauty of life.
His signature style, influenced by abstract impressionism, is defined by bold primary colors and the use of acrylics and unconventional materials such as rhinestones, beads, metallic foil, and fabric. His heavily textured paintings are often described as “sculpted” offering a tactile, three-dimensional quality that engages viewers.
For over 12 years, Hart exhibited at his gallery in Old Montreal, recently relocated to Pointe-Claire, with his artwork now housed in collections across more than 34 countries. Beyond the studio, Hart is actively involved in many nonprofit initiatives. His dedication to both artistic and philanthropic endeavors reinforce his belief that creativity is boundless.
