Krysia Gallien

Staying at the edge of abstraction, Krysia Gallien invites the viewer to look beyond form and participate in the dance of creation. Her work is in private collections both in North America and Europe.
A special series called Kimono Dreams explores the ancient beauty of Japanese floral landscapes, especially peonies, rendered in a blend of watercolor with acrylic accents. The golden outline references cloisonné.
More recently, Krysia has been exploring acrylics and mixed media like gold leaf, molding paste and cold wax finish. Canvases are gallery wrapped for easy display or may be framed. Small works, tondos (round works) and larger pieces can be found in this collection.
After living in the Pacific Northwest, new themes of oceans, skies and sunsets have been explored along with waterlilies and other floral themes.
